In July 2002, the LMDC and the NY Port Authority unveiled the WTC Reconstruction’s Master Plan by Beyer Blinder Bell and Parsons Brinkerhoff.
This corpus of proposals was overwhelmingly rejected by the New Yorkers. A new round of designs was then presented as of December 18, 2002
at the Winter Garden of the NY World Financial Center. The seven semi-finalist Architecture Firms (jointly selected by the LMDC and the NY Port Authority, except the Petersen Littenberg AUD firm selected at the Port Authority’s sole initiative) presented their projects for the WTC site.
I had the opportunity to visit this late 2002 Winter Garden exhibition-presentation.
A stay in New York during which my three “World Trade Center Renaissance” paintings presenting my Twin Towers reconstruction concept
were delivered to the firefighter James Hanlon at the Fire Unit Engine 7-Ladder 1 station which employed him, at N°. 100 of Duane Street.
